Questionnaire Library

The Questionnaire Library lets you browse and insert TalentMap's curated benchmark question pages directly into any custom or pulse survey. Instead of manually recreating benchmark questions, you can select pre-built pages from the library and add them in seconds — while preserving full benchmarkability against TalentMap's norms database.

The Questionnaire Library currently includes Engagement survey pages. Exit, Entry, and 360-degree feedback pages will be added in future releases.

Accessing the Library

  1. Navigate to Surveys and open the survey you want to edit.

  2. Click Design Survey in the left navigation.

  3. In the top toolbar, click the LIBRARY ITEM button (next to SAVE AS TEMPLATE).

The Select Library Item modal opens, showing all available benchmark pages.

Selecting and Adding Pages

  1. Browse the available pages — each card shows the page name, number of questions, and a brief description.

  2. Use the search bar to filter pages by name (e.g., type "career" to find Career Development).

  3. Click a page card to select it — the card highlights with an orange border and checkmark.

  4. Select multiple pages if needed by clicking additional cards.

  5. Click a selected card again to deselect it.

  6. Click OK to insert your selected pages into the survey.

Selected pages are appended to the end of your questionnaire. If you select multiple pages, they are added in alphabetical order.

Working with Inserted Pages

Once pages are added to your survey, you can customize the layout to fit your needs:

  • Reorder pages click the Pages icon on the right (above the flags) to drag-and-drop pages.

  • Remove individual questions from an inserted page using the delete button on each question — you are not locked into the full page.

  • Save your survey manually or let auto-save run every 30 seconds.

Inserted benchmark questions maintain benchmarkability as long as you do not modify the question text. If you edit a benchmark question, it becomes a custom question and may no longer benchmark against TalentMap norms.

Permissions

The LIBRARY ITEM button is available to users with Survey Creator or TalentMap Admin permissions. Standard viewers and report-only users do not have access to this feature.

FAQ

Can I add individual questions instead of entire pages?

Not in this release. The library works at the page level — you add a full page of questions and can then delete any you don't need. Individual question selection is planned for a future release.

Will adding library pages affect my existing survey?

No. Library pages are appended to the end of your questionnaire. Your existing pages and questions are not modified.

What happens if I edit a question after inserting it?

The question becomes a custom question and may no longer benchmark against TalentMap norms. If you need a modified version, consider keeping the original benchmark question and adding your custom version as a separate question.

Can I add the same page twice?

You can, but this would create duplicate questions with the same names, which could cause issues with reporting. We recommend adding each page only once.

Will more pages be added to the library?

Yes. The initial release includes Engagement survey pages. Exit, Entry, and 360-degree feedback pages will be added in future releases.

Troubleshooting

LIBRARY ITEM button is not visible

  • Confirm the user has Survey Creator or TalentMap Admin permissions.

  • The button only appears on the Design Survey page — it is not visible on General, Schedule Survey, or other tabs.

"No pages found" message in the modal

  • If the library appears empty, contact the TalentMap product team to confirm pages are loaded for your environment.

  • If you are searching, try clearing the search text to see all available pages.

Pages don't appear after clicking OK

  • Scroll to the bottom of your questionnaire — pages are appended to the end and may require scrolling if your survey already has many pages.
