# Compass Reports

Compass is TalentMap's online reporting tool. Once your survey closes and TalentMap enables results, you use it to read scores, compare groups, review comments, and export what your leaders need.

[<mark style="color:orange;">LOGIN TO COMPASS</mark>](https://compass.talentmap.com/)

{% hint style="info" %}
**Start with the Snapshot.** If you have your Compass login and are ready to read results, open the [Snapshot Report Overview](/knowledge-base/step-5-analyze-interpret-and-report/compass-reports/snapshot/webpage/snapshot-report-overview.md) first. It gives you the high-level scores every other report builds on.

## What each report is for

* **Snapshot**: dimension and item scores with benchmark and previous period comparisons, plus key driver analysis. Your primary report.
* **Heatmap**: scores across demographic groups side by side, so you can see highs and lows at a glance. See [Heatmap Overview](/knowledge-base/step-5-analyze-interpret-and-report/compass-reports/heatmap/heatmap-overview.md).
* **Comments**: open-ended responses with AI summaries, sentiment, and word clouds. See [Comments Overview](/knowledge-base/step-5-analyze-interpret-and-report/compass-reports/comments/comments-overview.md).
* **Correlations**: which items move most closely with engagement. See [Correlations](/knowledge-base/step-5-analyze-interpret-and-report/compass-reports/correlations.md).
* **Insights**: guided reading of your results. See [Insights](/knowledge-base/step-5-analyze-interpret-and-report/compass-reports/insights.md).
* **Response Rate**: live and historical response rates by demographic. See [Monitor Response Rates](/knowledge-base/step-4-deploy-employee-survey/monitor-response-rates.md).
* **Dashboard**: a configurable page of the metrics that matter most, built by a Site Admin. See [Dashboard Editor](/knowledge-base/step-5-analyze-interpret-and-report/compass-admin/results/dashboard-editor.md).

The [Report Access and Exports](/knowledge-base/step-5-analyze-interpret-and-report/compass-reports/general.md) section explains how to filter any report and how to run reports in bulk.

## Which export do I need?

Every export contains aggregate results, meaning scores and counts for groups, unless the row says otherwise. Use this table to pick the right one before you start.

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Individual answers are the exception.** Every report and export above protects confidentiality by showing groups, not people. To see a single participant's full answers, use Individual Reports, which TalentMap must enable for a survey and which removes confidentiality for that survey. See [Individual Reports](/knowledge-base/step-5-analyze-interpret-and-report/compass-reports/general/individual-reports.md) before you ask for it.

## Report confidentiality

All reports in Compass have built-in confidentiality. No group can be reported on without **5 responses** or more. Snapshot reports also block a filter that differs from a recent report by fewer than 5 respondents, and Site Admins can hide sensitive demographic fields from restricted users. See [Confidentiality and Permissions in Compass](/knowledge-base/step-5-analyze-interpret-and-report/compass-reports/confidentiality-and-permissions-in-compass.md) for how each control applies to each report.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.talentmap.com/knowledge-base/step-5-analyze-interpret-and-report/compass-reports.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
